The New King Pin

A very well deserved congradulations to Jamie Teehan  for his pretty damn amazing piece of Animation for our Animal Behaviour theme. He's walking away a pretty happy man today with some Star Wars Lego!!!

A very big well done to the runners up, last month winner Sophia Daly and another previous winner Aine McGuinness.

My Tarantula

My pet spider ate its first cricket after fasting for 5 MONTHS!!!  Apparently Tarantulas can live up to 2 1/2 years without food! He had me worried for a while, what a Cutie!!

"Slow Milk"

"Slow Milk" is a piece by Danielle O'Brien, a.k.a. Robin Hoshino of News of the Curd (www.newsof thecurd.com). Featured at her exhibition "Biosphere" @ Tamp and Stitch yesterday. Congrats to Danielle on a very sucessful opening night! Exhibition runs til June 5th and pieces are selling fast.

Baby Slow Loris

Baby Slow Loris in a tree. These poor little mites are on the endangered species list cause people think they are so cute they want them as pet.. Dopes!!!! Watched a documentary on them a few weeks back and they are fascinating little creatures but it's all very sad.
It is also very sad that I had a nightmare trying to colour and finish the damn picture so I say F**k it the sketch is better then knowt.

Loris Behaviour: These guys secret a toxin from their underarm glands that they lick and mix with their own saliva. They lick themselves and their young with this toxic saliva to protect themselves from predators and parasites. You get a bite off a Slow Loris and your in a bit of trouble and can be left pretty badly scared from the toxin mixing in the wound.

Dunno where the idea came from but I do remember running round the house with my arms tucked right in shouting like a dinosaur wen I was younger (you know like 17/18)... so I guess its loosely based on that... sept I didn't have a sweet costume!! :(

So this is my brother and sister's cat George. I went home to see them the other morning but neither were home. George raced out to sit in the sun when I opened the door and I couldn't get him back in.
So here he is lounging in the sun.

One Today!

Today a year ago the Bouldermedia Art blog kicked off. So I am just gonna give a MASSIVE shout out to everyone who has got involved... the posters, commenters, followers and voters. It's been a great year with superb artwork. Knowing how busy you all are it is a fine thing to see that you still can find the time to do a bit for our little bloggy!

Oh La, la!

This theme has been abit longer running then our usual but kinda worth it in my mind. The winner of the "Favourite Games Character" theme is our French animator Sophia Daly (she is not in today so it will be a nice suprise for her tomorrow). The next in line were Mr.Ross L.Dillon, followed by Ms.Verna Jaaskinen. An incredible turnout this month so thank you everyone who submitted something.

Mega Man

Besides being a fantastic game, Mega Man 2 is the first Nintendo game I ever rented which makes it one of my fondest memories of being a kid. It's soundtrack is also still one of the best. Here's Mega Man facing off against Metal Man, long live 8-bit games!

I'd also like to show how misleading the box art was to the in-game graphics:

What was the DEAL with the levels of Ecco the Tides of Time (megadrive 1994) where you weren't in the water!? Why was a dolphin expected to navigate around a completely dry metal spaceship?

Video game character

Really loved Flashback on the Amiga. The fella's name is Conrad and level 1 starts out in a jungle. Was just curious to see what it would look like on a box hence the photoshop image at the top.

So here he is!!I guess I'm the first to post a pic for the new monthly post!This took me around three hours or so to do....but as you can see I did not draw the logo.This is Soinc the hedgehog and "Miles" Tails Prower running...well flying away from Dr Robotnik!Probably based off of Sonic the Hedgehog 2!Hope you guys like it!

Times past

 My first drawing on cel. There was another frame where his arm was positioned up as to make it seem like he was waving when you flipped the pages. Did it in a course with Tina. Don't know her second name, she usually goes by Tina Mation. Wether she legally changed her name to Mation or not I have no idea.

Used to love reading Sonic the comic especially Richard Elsons stuff. Fantastic artist. I would probably date the two of these around 93-95.
